Varahimadia.com,Hyderabad,March 26, 2026: Kenvue, a leading global consumer health company, has issued a formal statement to reinforce its commitment to science-based hydration and regulatory transparency in India. The move follows the rollout of its new “dual-brand strategy” in January 2026 and aims to counter what the company describes as “unscientific information” being circulated by certain online influencers regarding its products and ingredients.

Strategic Portfolio Shift: ORSL vs. ERZL
To help consumers differentiate between medical recovery and daily hydration, Kenvue has transitioned its portfolio into two distinct categories:

ORSL (Drug Category): This remains the dedicated brand for the WHO-standard Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS). Available in liquid and powder forms, it is strictly indicated for treating dehydration caused by diarrhea.

ERZL (Food Category): A newly formulated electrolyte drink designed for everyday hydration. It is intended for situations such as heat exhaustion, general tiredness, and daily physical fatigue.

Health Innovation: 87% Less Sugar
In a major step toward supporting the Government of India’s fight against Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Kenvue has significantly upgraded the ERZL formula. The new version boasts:

87% reduction in added sugar.

1.4 times more electrolytes than previous iterations.
This category-first reform makes it a healthier alternative for routine rehydration.

Scientific Defense of Sucralose
Kenvue addressed recent social media concerns regarding the use of Sucralose, asserting that its safety is backed by extensive research and recognized by top health bodies, including:

Global: Codex and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).

National: FSSAI, CDSCO, and the Indian Pharmacopoeia.

The company further clarified that the 2023 WHO guidelines on non-sugar sweeteners—which focus on long-term weight management—are being “cited out of context” by influencers and do not apply to functional medical products like WHO-standard ORS or specialized electrolyte drinks.

Action Against Disinformation
Kenvue expressed serious concern over “singular targeting” by certain healthcare influencers, stating that their claims have created “unnecessary fear” among consumers.

“We have always been in favor of constructive scientific dialogue,” the company stated. “However, since there has been no response to our outreach and a continued disparagement of our brands, we have taken necessary action to safeguard our integrity and prevent the spread of misinformation.”

Legacy of Medical Collaboration
With a history of presenting peer-reviewed research at prestigious conferences like PEDICON, APICON, and RSSDI, Kenvue reaffirmed its partnership with the Indian medical fraternity. The company pledged to continue providing evidence-based solutions and transparent communication to ensure consumers make the right choices for their health.
