Varahi media.com online news,TIRUMALA, 3 FEBRUARY ,2025: For the first time, TTD conducted Visesha Pooja as an annual ritual on the auspicious occasion of Vasanta Panchami on Monday.
Historically, Visesha Pooja was introduced by TTD in the early 1990s as a weekly Arjita Seva, performed every Monday at the Srivari Temple. However, based on the recommendations of Jeeyangars, Archakas, and Agama Pundits, the last TTD board decided to observe Vasantotsavam, Sahasra Kalasabhishekam, and Visesha Pooja as annual rituals. This decision was made to prevent any potential damage to the ancient Utsava Murtis and ensure their preservation for future generations.

As part of this new tradition, the annual Visesha Pooja was conducted for the first time at the Kalyana Mandapam of Srivari Temple on Vasanta Panchami. The priests performed special poojas for Sri Malayappa Swamy, along with Sridevi and Bhudevi, beginning with Punyahavachanam and concluding with Chaturdasa Kalasa Avahanam and Purnahuti.
Moving forward, TTD will continue to conduct the annual Visesha Pooja on Vasanta Panchami every year as Circar (in Ekantam).
TTD Additional EO Sri Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Deputy EO Sri Lokanatham, and other officials participated in this sacred event.
