Varahimedia.com,17th Novmber,2024:Teach For India, a leading non-profit organization championing educational equity, has unveiled its innovative Arts Fellowship to celebrate 15 years of impactful work in India. The announcement was made during a special showcase of With Love, a musical highlighting the organization’s inspiring journey over the past decade and a half.

The Arts Fellowship is the second addition to Teach For India’s flagship two-year Fellowship program. This new initiative aims to enhance educational equity by integrating high-quality arts education into underprivileged schools. The program will also provide Fellows with robust leadership development opportunities. Applications for the full-time paid Arts Fellowship will open on January 6, 2025.

The Arts Fellowship draws from the insights of Teach For India alumni, external experts, and staff, blending arts with education to help students amplify their voice, expression, and creativity. By fostering a deep appreciation for local and global art forms, the program aspires to nurture future leaders who are creative, compassionate, and socially committed.

As part of its long-term vision, Teach For India plans to expand its operations to 3-5 additional cities by 2032, increasing its footprint to a total of 11-13 cities across India. The organization, currently active in eight cities—Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune—aims to develop 50,000 leaders across diverse roles, including student leaders, teachers, teacher trainers, school leaders, entrepreneurs, and government officials.

Reflecting on this milestone, Shaheen Mistri, Founder & CEO of Teach For India, remarked:
This is an emotional and gratifying moment for us. Over the past 15 years, our 1,000 Fellows and 5,000 Alumni have positively impacted 50 million children across India. With the launch of the Arts Fellowship, we aspire to immerse students in the transformative power of the arts while building a generation of leaders equipped to drive societal change with creativity and compassion.

Teach For India remains steadfast in its mission to bridge the educational inequity gap and create a future where every child has access to an excellent education.
