Varahi media.com online news,India, September 23rd 2025: JSW MG Motor India has announced a significant milestone at its Halol plant in Gujarat, where the battery assembly shop has achieved an impressive 80% gender diversity. This facility, which assembles battery packs for the MG Comet and MG Windsor, currently produces an average of 140 units per day.
Diversity and inclusion are central to JSW MG Motor India’s philosophy. The company has made remarkable progress in building an equitable workforce across its operations, with women now making up over 41% of its total workforce. The battery assembly line operates in three shifts, with an 80% female workforce ensuring precision and efficiency across four key segments.

The battery assembly process is a meticulous operation. It includes several critical stages:
- Module Line: Cells undergo an open circuit voltage test for electrical integrity and are secured with specialized glue.
- Pack Line: Spot and laser welding techniques are used to precisely join components, followed by scanning and alignment to ensure structural accuracy.
- Charging and Discharging Line: Batteries are rigorously tested to validate performance and reliability.
- Final Assembly: Completed battery packs are integrated and prepared for installation in MG electric vehicles.
