Varahimedia.com,Hyderabad, June 7, 2025: In a stunning medical triumph, doctors at KIMS Hospitals, Kondapur, successfully saved the life of 60-year-old Uday, an Indian businessman from Kakinada who had been residing in Ghana, West Africa, for over 20 years. Uday was airlifted to Hyderabad in a critical condition after being diagnosed with falciparum malaria, compounded by sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).
His condition had worsened rapidly in Ghana, rendering him dependent on ventilator support. Understanding the urgency, doctors in Ghana reached out to specialists at KIMS Kondapur. Upon their advice, Uday was placed on life support and flown to India via a special air ambulance — a complex, high-altitude medical transfer executed by Dr. D.V. Rama Krishna and the hospital’s emergency coordination team.
The 16-hour journey at 35,000 feet while on ventilator support posed extraordinary risks. Upon arrival at KIMS Kondapur, Uday was immediately attended to by a multi-disciplinary team led by Dr. Ravisekhar Reddy, Head of Internal Medicine, and Dr. Pankaj, Critical Care Consultant.

“This case was extremely challenging. Over 24 days, our intensive care team provided round-the-clock support. His recovery feels almost miraculous,” said Dr. Ravisekhar Reddy.
