varahmedia.com online news, Visakhapatnam, June 14, 2025 : Over 150 orthopedic surgeons from across Andhra Pradesh are set to gather in Visakhapatnam for a crucial one-day symposium focused on knee meniscus injuries. Hosted by KIMS Hospital in collaboration with the North Andhra Orthopaedic Association and the Vizag Arthroscopic Association, the event will take place on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel.

The symposium aims to shed light on the long-term implications of these injuries and the latest advancements in minimally invasive arthroscopic treatments. The organizing team, including Dr. Srinivas Gollangi, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar Reddy, and Dr. Santosh Ram Gaddam, shared details about the upcoming event. They emphasized that the symposium will not only benefit orthopedic professionals but also raise public awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and effective management of knee-related injuries.

Leading orthopedic specialists from cities like Ahmedabad and Coimbatore will be sharing their expertise on cutting-edge techniques and technological advancements in arthroscopic surgery. Discussions and live demonstrations will cover how this minimally invasive surgical technique can effectively treat internal knee damage. Experts will also delve into modern innovations such as Meniscal Transplants and Cartilage repair techniques.

“Due to poor lifestyle habits, obesity, and increasing involvement in recreational sports without proper preparation, ligament and meniscus injuries have become common even among people in their 20s and 30s,” stated the organizing medical experts, Dr. Srinivas Gollangi, Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar Reddy, and Dr. Santosh Ram Gaddam.

They stressed the critical importance of prompt treatment to prevent chronic pain and permanent joint damage, which can arise if these injuries, often unnoticed in early stages, are left untreated. Untreated injuries can lead to accelerated wear and tear of the knee joint, resulting in premature osteoarthritis and long-term mobility issues.
