Varahi media.com online news,June 4,2026:Day 3 of the 17th YAI Monsoon Regatta National Ranking Championship saw light to medium velocity winds and three races were sailed in the under 16 Optimist class and a wipe out by Telangana Sailors across most fleets.

Nilkonda Mani once again topped the leaderboard with two positions in the top 3 while the reigning National Champion Ravikumar Banneoulu after a bad two days got one win and one second position .

The star of the day was Vutla Narasimha  – the son of a daily wage labourer recently returned from the Singapore Nationals – who won the third race of the day pipping Ravi at the finish line in a hard fought 45 minute race . This is Narasimha’s first race win at a  National Championship and he has gained to stand at overall 3rd behind Mani and Ravikumar

Ravikumar was top seed and national champion and was disqualified in race 1.  His performance lacks the crispness he displayed at the Nationals but he is close enough by 6 points behind to pip Mani with Narasimha biting at his heels just one point behind. Ravi has also lost his discard by being disqualified in race 1
