Varahi media.com online news,BENGALURU,September 24th,2026: Indian electric vehicle manufacturer Ultraviolette has announced a new $85 million funding round aimed at scaling its manufacturing operations, developing next-generation EV platforms, and fueling its expansion into the global market.

The investment round was co-led by deep tech fund Yali Capital and TDK Ventures. The round also saw participation from Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International, who will join Ultraviolette as an advisor, alongside existing long-term investors.

The fresh injection of capital follows the company’s recent announcement of a new manufacturing facility designed to scale production up to 500,000 units annually. Ultraviolette plans to utilize the funds to meet rapidly growing domestic and international demand for its current lineup, which includes the F77 and X-47 Crossover electric motorcycles. The capital will also support the upcoming launch of the Tesseract scooter and the Shockwave enduro motorcycle.

Currently retailing in India and 20 European countries, the Bengaluru-based company has set an aggressive international roadmap. Ultraviolette is targeting an entry into the United States market by 2027, alongside broader expansion plans across Latin America and Southeast Asia.

Beyond manufacturing scale, a significant portion of the investment will be directed toward advancing the company’s vertically integrated EV platforms. Ultraviolette boasts in-house technical capabilities spanning 48V to 400V battery architectures, allowing it to engineer bespoke platforms for varying performance, range, and thermal-management requirements across multiple vehicle categories.

“What I really like about Ultraviolette is the combination of deep engineering expertise, strong IP, and the willingness to take on genuinely difficult problems,” said Lip-Bu Tan, Chairman of Walden International. “They have built the technology from first principles and are focused on creating something that is truly differentiated for the long term.”

Ganapathy Subramaniam, Founding Managing Partner at Yali Capital, highlighted the company’s focus on real-world rider needs and safety innovations. He noted that Ultraviolette has successfully brought radar-based safety features into production with the X-47, and expects the upcoming Tesseract scooter to bring this engineering focus to a much wider consumer base.

Ravi Jain, Investment Director at TDK Ventures, echoed this sentiment, stating that Ultraviolette is uniquely positioned to catalyze the global transition to electric two-wheelers through its differentiated technology.

Founders Narayan Subramaniam and Niraj Rajmohan emphasized that the funding marks a crucial step in their evolution into a global electric mobility brand.

“The conviction demonstrated by Yali Capital, TDK Ventures, Lip-Bu Tan, and our long-term investors reinforces our vision of building a design and tech-focused global brand out of India,” the founders shared in a joint statement.

“Our single-minded focus is about being a global leader in future mobility; electric vehicles that bring together uncompromising performance, future-centric design, and advanced technology.”
