Varahi media.com online news,Hyderabad, December 12, 2025:Pinkathon, India’s largest women’s run, today announced its partnership with global innovation-led healthcare company Zydus Lifesciences Ltd. to amplify breast cancer awareness. The collaboration marks the launch of the 6th edition of Pinkathon Hyderabad, scheduled for February 15, 2026, at People’s Plaza.

Founded in 2012 by actor and fitness advocate Milind Soman, Pinkathon has evolved into a national movement, empowering over half a million women, providing thousands of free breast screenings, and raising over ₹1 crore for cancer patients. With Zydus joining as the Title Partner, the 2025–26 season will continue its mission across six major Indian cities, focusing on preventive health.

Celebrating Courage and Inclusivity

The Hyderabad edition proudly unveiled a diverse lineup of inspiring mascots, embodying the run’s spirit of resilience and community:

  • Poonam Metta (100K)
  • Devyani Haldar (75K)
  • Leena Roy (50K)
  • Mardaku Anitha (Visually Impaired Runner, 10K)
  • Sarita Sarkar (Cancer Survivor, Lifelong 5K)
  • Preety Khanna (Babywearing Mother, 3K)

The run offers categories from 3 km community runs up to ultra-distances, catering to first-time participants and seasoned athletes alike.

Emphasis on Early Detection: The ‘Easiest Exam’ Campaign

Speaking at the press conference, hosted by Hospitality Partner Park Hyatt, Milind Soman emphasized the mission: “Pinkathon is a celebration of women choosing themselves — their health, their fitness, and their wellbeing. With the partnership of Zydus, we continue our commitment to ensuring that every woman understands the critical importance of early detection and self-care.”

The event highlighted Zydus’s ‘Easiest Exam’ campaign, which encourages women to adopt a simple three-minute monthly breast self-examination—a crucial step in improving early diagnosis of breast cancer.

Introducing ‘Invincible Women’

This year, Pinkathon Hyderabad features the inaugural presence of ‘Invincible Women,’ an initiative founded by Ankita Konwar to support women’s endurance running. “Invincible Women is about pushing boundaries and proving to ourselves that we are capable of more than we think,” said Konwar. “We hope to inspire women across Hyderabad to prioritise their health, learn the importance of self-examination, and show up for themselves.”

Medical Perspective on Prevention

Dr. Mohana Vamsy, Surgical Oncologist, underscored the importance of awareness: “Breast cancer still ranks as one of the major cancers common in women, and it is indeed unfortunate that a large number of cases are still identified at the late stages.

The result of a check that takes not more than three minutes and is done once every month is what would change the face of the outcomes in a great measure. Events like Pinkathon provide education to women, making it possible for them to go to the clinic early.”

Dr. Sharvil Patel, Managing Director, Zydus Lifesciences Ltd, echoed this sentiment, stating, “A simple 3-minute self-examination each month can make a life-saving difference. Joining hands with Pinkathon, we aim to reach many more women, raise awareness, and inspire collective action in the fight against breast cancer.”

In the lead-up to the main event, Pinkathon will continue its signature inclusive formats, including the Saree Run, Grandmothers 10K, Babywearing Mothers Walk, and Midnight Fearless Run, ensuring new participants are encouraged to join the movement.

The event is supported by key partners including Healthy Master, Lotus Herbal, Lifelong, Sirona, Fujifilm (Breast Health Partner), and Inc 5 (Gifting Partner), showcasing a united front for women’s health and empowerment.
