Mission moon : India becomes fourth country to land a spacecraft on the moon

So far, 12 countries have launched about 141 missions to touch the moon, the closest view of Earth in space. Of these, 59 were considered failures, five were partial successes, and 69 were considered successful.

India conducted three of these missions. Where our Chandrayaan-1 was successful, Chandrayaan-2 was partially successful. This time India’s position was different from a soft landing on the South Pole of the Moon.

As a result of the race to the moon, the United States has so far carried out 59 missions, while Soviet Russia has carried out 58 missions. After this China conducted eight missions, Japan six and India three.

The European Union, Luxembourg, Israel, South Korea, Italy, UAE and Russia each made a campaign. Of these, America was the only one to succeed in sending men to the moon.

Importance of India

India launched an orbiter and impactor on the Chandrayaan-1 mission on October 22, 2008. Both were successful. India has become the fifth country in the world to land its vehicle on the lunar surface.

However, China succeeded in sending the Chang’e 1 mission a year earlier on 22 October 2007. On December 14, 2013, the lander and rover landed on the Chang 3 mission.

In October 2014, it also succeeded in bringing back samples from the Moon. Meanwhile, India’s Chandrayaan-2 was not entirely successful. In such a situation, the success of Chandrayaan-3 was considered important to compete with China.

Soviet Russia made history on September 14, 1959 when it hit the moon with Luna 2, the first man to land on the moon.

Soviet Russia also made the first soft landing on the Moon, with its lander mission Luna 9 landing on the Moon on February 3, 1966.

Soviet Russia sent the first successful orbiter mission. On April 3, 1966, his Luna 10 mission became the first to orbit the Moon.

America successfully made the first soft landing on the Moon on 2 June 1966 by the Surveyor 1 mission. America’s greatest achievement was the Apollo 11 mission on July 20, 1969, when humans reached and returned to the moon for the first time. America has landed manned missions on the moon 6 times, no other country has done this.
