varahimedia.com online news,Visakhapatnam,November 2,2024: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his disbelief after touring the extravagant Rs 450 crore ‘Rushikonda Palace’ in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. “I am shocked, surprised, and stunned that a person like Jagan Mohan Reddy exists, someone who seemingly disregards every person, rule, and law of this country. His singular agenda appears to be the looting of the state,” Naidu stated.
During his visit, Naidu highlighted the ostentatious features of the palace, noting a ceiling fan priced at Rs 4 lakh, a toilet costing Rs 12 lakh, a bathtub worth Rs 36 lakh, and a massive 200-tonne centralized AC system. He lamented, “It has been proven yet again that he is the Andhra Escobar.”

Naidu announced plans to publicly release all photographs, videos, bills, and other relevant documentation concerning the palace. He also indicated that the administration would permit public tours of the palace to foster discussion on two critical issues: the accountability for the extravagant expenditure of public funds on a seven-block palace and the need to ensure that such “bhootalu” (demons) never rise to power again. He compared the palace unfavorably to Hyderabad’s Falaknuma Palace, which he suggested could be repurposed as a hotel, stating that Rushikonda Palace lacks utility for any official purpose.
“Even the White House may not have such lavish bathtubs or bathrooms comparable to a two-bedroom flat, complete with attached massage rooms. It pains me to see how those cloaked in political power can destroy everything, including democracy,” Naidu remarked.
He criticized Jagan’s apparent self-interest and emphasized the necessity to reveal the former chief minister’s attitude. “Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine political leaders could indulge in such extravagance,” he said.
Naidu continued to voice concerns over the YSRCP government’s actions, alleging that the party had deceived the Central government and judicial bodies like the NGT by submitting false reports regarding the construction. He stated that Jagan would face repercussions for erecting the seven blocks on 61 acres of land.

“Perhaps Jagan believed he would govern the state indefinitely. This palace exemplifies how anyone with a criminal mindset can misuse public resources while shamelessly branding themselves as a champion of the people,” Naidu asserted. He mentioned the secrecy surrounding the palace’s construction, noting that media, political leaders, and even government officials were barred from the site. He criticized the use of Japanese technology to prevent landslides, which he claimed resulted in the destruction of areas where sages once meditated in ‘tapasya.’
“The law will take its course now. There will be no leniency for those who squander public money without remorse,” Naidu concluded.
