VarahiMedia.com online news,Hyderabad, October 5, 2024 :The Datla Foundation, the CSR arm of Biological E Limited, in collaboration with the Impact Guru Foundation (IGF), has launched the “Care on Wheels” (CoW) program, aimed at providing essential healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of underprivileged communities. The launch took place today at Genome Valley, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The “Care on Wheels” initiative focuses on three districts in Telangana—Medchal-Malkajgiri, Sangareddy, and Rangareddy—where the need for accessible healthcare is paramount. This program is a part of IGF’s broader mission to ensure quality and equitable healthcare for the underprivileged, with an ambitious goal to positively impact five million lives by 2030.

Dr. Trishanya Raju, Managing Trustee of the Datla Foundation, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “Through our Care on Wheels initiative in collaboration with Impact Guru Foundation, we’re not just addressing immediate healthcare needs—we’re building a bridge to a healthier and more dignified future for communities that often go unheard. Equitable access to healthcare is not a privilege, but a right that we must collectively uphold.”

The “Care on Wheels” program will deliver various healthcare services, including:

  • Consultations with experienced general physicians (MBBS)
  • Medicine distribution managed by registered pharmacists
  • Vital check-ups and diagnostics, such as diabetes and hemoglobin testing
  • Health-related awareness sessions
  • Counseling services for individuals and families
  • Menstrual hygiene sensitization, providing sanitary pads to girls in government primary schools
  • Referral services and home visits for bedridden patients who cannot access healthcare facilities

The program is designed to complement existing healthcare efforts and fill gaps in areas not served by Mobile Medical Units (MMUs).

Sundeep Talwar, CEO of Impact Guru Foundation, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, noting, “At Impact Guru Foundation, our mission is to ensure that every individual has access to quality healthcare when they need it the most. This collaboration with the Datla Foundation for Care on Wheels in Shamirpet, Gaghanpahad, and Patancheruvu represents a significant step towards realizing our vision of universal healthcare.”

Operationally, the “Care on Wheels” service will run from Monday to Friday, covering designated villages in two shifts each day. For instance, on Mondays, services will be provided in Anantharam, Jagganguda, and Lalgadi Malakpet, with a total distance coverage of 19 km. The program will reach different locations each week to maximize healthcare access.

Additionally, Shadow Health Camps will be conducted by IGF on the first and third Saturdays of each month to further extend the reach of healthcare services.

The “Care on Wheels” initiative is expected to significantly improve health outcomes in targeted areas by raising awareness and promoting healthy practices among the local population. The partnership between the Datla Foundation and Impact Guru Foundation showcases a strong commitment to social responsibility and the well-being of communities in need.
