According to the folklore associated with the Sri Vari or Laddus of Tirupati, once upon a time, Lord Venkateswara came to earth to accumulate wealth for the marriage of Lord Vishnu’s devotees. At this point, a local woman offered him a delicious sweet made of rice flour and jaggery.
As a reward for her hard work, Lord Venkateswara told the woman that the sweet would be an eternal prasad in the temple. Thus, the tradition of offering laddoos to Lord Venkateswara continues even today. But the form of brownies that was there before is no more. There have been many changes in the form of laddoos. .
