During his visit to Hyderabad, SBI Chairman C.S. Setty announced substantial support for the Devnar Foundation, an NGO dedicated to the visually challenged, by donating ₹51 lakhs for the installation of a firefighting system and a rooftop solar photovoltaic system.

In addition to this generous donation, SBI launched a tree plantation drive named “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” encouraging all staff members to participate in planting trees as a tribute to Mother Nature. Shri Setty emphasized the bank’s commitment to sustainability, noting that SBI has planted 1.8 million trees this year alone. He reiterated SBI’s vision to lead in climate finance, aiming for a pathway to Net Zero (SCOPE 1, 2, & 3) by 2055.
The initiatives extended beyond financial support, with the SBI Ladies Club also participating in the tree plantation drive. Smt. Sreedevi Surya, President of the All India SBI Ladies Club, conducted a charity event at SBI Enclave, distributing water dispensers, sewing machines, stationery, fruits, snacks, and groceries to Sai Seva Sangh in Miyapur, Hyderabad, further assisting the underprivileged community.
Acknowledging the significant work of the Devnar Foundation, Shri C.S. Setty expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support the organization. He stated that identifying the right NGOs for collaboration brings immense satisfaction and contributes positively to societal progress.

He highlighted that the firefighting system would enhance safety for visually impaired individuals, while the rooftop solar installation would reduce the carbon footprint and promote environmental sustainability.
Shri Rajesh Kumar, Chief General Manager of SBI Hyderabad Circle, voiced his enthusiasm for supporting the Devnar Foundation and underscored the bank’s commitment to effectively utilizing CSR funds to focus on healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, sanitation, women’s empowerment, and entrepreneurship initiatives.
Dr. A. Saibaba Goud from the Devnar Foundation remarked, “The bank’s support for the firefighting system clearly indicates SBI’s commitment to creating a safe environment for differently-abled students.”

Mr. Setty’s visit also included the inauguration of a vigilance workshop at SBI’s Staff College in Hyderabad, where he delivered a motivational address to branch managers from the Hyderabad and Secunderabad zones. He inspired them to excel in business parameters, emphasizing the importance of excellent customer service. “If this decade is a golden period for the country, then it is a golden period for SBI too,” he stated.
