Varahi media.com online news,New Delhi, May 31st,2025: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu declared on Friday that while India has now become the world’s fourth-largest economy, the real competition with the United States and China is just beginning.
Speaking at the Annual Summit of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Naidu emphasized the need for India to enhance its global manufacturing capabilities and avoid falling into the middle-income trap.
“Today, we are the fourth-largest economy. In another two years, we’ll reach the third spot. Until then, competition was minimal. But now, the real race begins,” Naidu said.
“China’s economy is four-and-a-half times larger than India’s, and the US economy is seven times bigger. We need to be prepared,” he added, underscoring the importance of strong public policy to achieve significant developmental progress.
Naidu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, calling it a rare opportunity for India to make bold strides in development.

Revealing plans for the state’s future, Naidu announced that Andhra Pradesh will establish a Global Leadership Centre in Amaravati, inspired by the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
“We’re all going to Davos to learn, network, and exchange ideas. Now, I want to create such a hub here in Amaravati to groom future global leaders,” Naidu explained.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s green energy leadership, Naidu said the state tops the nation in renewable energy production and is an ideal destination for industries.
“Some states have solar, others have wind, but Andhra Pradesh has it all—solar, wind, pumped storage, green ammonia, and nitrogen. We’re also equipped with ports. This makes us the number one state for green energy and its downstream industries,” Naidu said.
Encouraging industries to invest in Andhra Pradesh, Naidu assured, “I’ll provide you with all the necessary facilities. I’m planning big.” He also noted that out of India’s 500-gigawatt target for non-fossil energy sources, Andhra Pradesh alone will contribute 160 GW.
Naidu, known for his technology-focused approach, announced that companies such as TCS, IBM, and L&T are setting up quantum computing centers in Amaravati, the state’s upcoming capital.
