Varahi Media.com Online News, October 2nd, 2024: Autism is one of the 21 types of disabilities worldwide. Children with autism, if diagnosed early and given the necessary treatments, can lead healthy lives. However, due to lack of proper facilities and government intervention, many children fail to get timely treatment. As a result, they face more health problems. Due to this, their families are facing mental, physical, financial stress.

Taking advantage of this medical gap, illegal treatment centers are springing up in cities and towns. Autism therapy centers are springing up illegally without the necessary resources, educational qualifications and government licenses. Children’s lives are at risk due to lack of quality treatment in those centers. Without following the guidelines laid down by the Department of Differently Able and Senior Citizens (DDEW), these centers offer substandard treatments for autism, ADHD, retardation, and other neurological disorders. Parents feel that these centers are harming instead of helping.
“We went to these centers with the hope that our children would be given proper treatment and their lives would improve. But in reality, they are cheating us, exploiting us financially and jeopardizing our children’s future,” the parents alleged.
Parents in Telugu states are demanding that illegal treatment centers without permits be closed immediately and the government should take action. “These centers are ruining our children’s health and our peace of mind.

We want the government to take quick action and shut down the illegal centers and operate only licensed facilities. As illegal autism therapy centers are messing with children’s lives, the victims are demanding that the government take strict action to protect them from exploitation.
They want the government to immediately intervene in this matter and take necessary steps to protect the affected families.
