Varahi media.com online news, November 30,2024: Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda will inaugurate the World AIDS Day 2024 event at Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya Auditorium in Indore on December 1. The event will focus on the ongoing efforts to combat HIV/AIDS and raise awareness about the disease, with Indore hosting this significant occasion.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will attend as the Guest of Honour. The event will align with this year’s United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) theme, “Take the Rights Path,” which emphasizes awareness, rights-based approaches, and the need to eliminate discrimination against individuals affected by HIV/AIDS.
Organized by the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the program will bring together policymakers, civil society organizations, communities, youth, and development partners to strengthen the collective effort in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Highlights of the event include a live performance of NACO’s theme song by Dev Negi, Moko Koza, and Agsy, as well as motivational stories from beneficiaries. An exhibition showcasing NACO’s digital ecosystem, community engagement efforts, and campaign milestones will also be featured.

Key publications, including the SANKALAK 6th Edition and the India HIV Estimates 2023 – Technical Report, will be launched during the event.
To ensure nationwide participation, the program will be live-streamed, reinforcing India’s commitment to ending HIV/AIDS by 2030.
