Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan Conducts Video Conference on NREGS Implementation and Village Meetings

VarahiMedia.com online news,August 19th,2024:Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan conducted a video conference from the State Secretariat to guide and review the progress of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS). He provided directions on organizing village meetings for approval of work under the scheme and discussed related procedures.

Village Meetings: On August 23, village meetings will be held across all gram panchayats in the state to approve the works under the NREGS. The scheme covers 46 types of work.

Funding and Accountability: Significant funds are being allocated to the scheme. It is essential to utilize every rupee responsibly to achieve the scheme’s objectives.

Responsibility: Officials at the district, mandal, and village levels are responsible for implementing the scheme effectively. The Social Audit department must ensure thorough oversight.

During the video conference, Principal Secretary for PR & RD, Sri Shashibhushan Kumar, Commissioner Sri Krishna Teja, and other senior officials participated. Representatives from 26 districts, including Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officers, District Panchayat Officers, DWAMA PIOs, Mandal Panchayat Development Officers, EO PRDIs, Panchayat Secretaries, and APPOs under the NREGS also took part.
