Varahi media.com online news,Mumbai, 4 September 2025: Bank of Baroda, one of India’s leading public sector banks, has introduced the “bob Aspire NRE Savings Account”, a new product designed to help Indian citizens planning to move abroad for business, employment, studies, or long-term stays. The initiative enables customers to conveniently open an NRE savings account before their departure from India, simplifying the transition to NRI banking.

The account will initially remain in “inoperative mode” and will be activated once customers submit proof of overseas address along with a copy of their passport carrying the immigration stamp confirming NRI status.

Speaking about the launch, Smt. Beena Vaheed, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda, said:
“At Bank of Baroda, we are committed to supporting the aspirations of our customers. The bob Aspire NRE Savings Account allows Indians to set up their NRE account before leaving the country, making the shift to NRI banking easier for students, professionals, and others moving abroad.”

Key Features of the bob Aspire NRE Savings Account

  • Facility to open the account in India prior to departure abroad.
  • No minimum balance charges for the first two quarters.
  • Thereafter, a Quarterly Average Balance of ₹10,000 is required, with no upper balance limit.
  • Tax benefits: income in the account is exempt from income tax, and balances are exempt from wealth tax.
  • Special customised Debit Card with Airport Lounge access and other privileges.

In addition to the newly launched bob Aspire, Bank of Baroda offers a range of NRE/NRO savings accounts tailored for NRIs, including Baroda Power Pack NRE Savings Account, bob Global Women NRE & NRO Savings Account, and bob Premium NRE & NRO Savings Account.
