Varahi media.com online news, December 27th,2025: In a tribute to the supreme sacrifice of India’s bravehearts, Bank of Baroda (BoB) has extended a financial aid of ₹75 lakh to the family of the late Agniveer Shri Naveen Kumar. This support was provided under the Personal Accident Insurance cover, a key feature of the bank’s specialized ‘Agniveer Account Scheme.’

Shri Naveen Kumar, serving with the 13 JAK RIF (Kargil), tragically lost his life on May 20, 2025, during Operation Sindhoor in Kargil while defending the nation’s borders.

A Solemn Tribute
The insurance claim amount was formally presented to the soldier’s mother, Smt. Ajudhiya Kumari, during a respectful ceremony. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including:

Naib Subedar Santosh Kumar and Retired Brigadier Hardeep Singh, representing the armed forces.

Mr. Bal Kishan, Deputy General Manager and Regional Head (Shimla), along with other senior officials from Bank of Baroda’s Chandigarh Zonal Office.

During the ceremony, officials paid rich tributes to the martyr’s unwavering courage and expressed their deepest condolences to the family members.

Bank of Baroda reaffirmed its dedication to the welfare of India’s armed forces. Through the Agniveer Account Scheme, the bank aims to provide robust financial security and comprehensive insurance benefits to soldiers and their dependents.

A spokesperson for the bank stated that while no amount can compensate for the loss of a life, the bank remains committed to ensuring that the families of those who make the ultimate sacrifice are provided with meaningful financial protection.
