Home to over 1.5 lakh rescued, endangered, and threatened animals across 2,000 species, the centre is a pioneering effort in wildlife conservation.

During his visit, PM Modi explored various state-of-the-art facilities at Vantara. He closely interacted with rehabilitated animals and observed the advanced veterinary care provided at the wildlife hospital. Equipped with MRI, CT scans, ICUs, and multiple specialized departments such as Wildlife Anesthesia, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endoscopy, Dentistry, and Internal Medicine, the hospital offers world-class treatment to rescued animals.

Interactions with Rare & Endangered Species

PM Modi actively engaged with a variety of species, including:
Asiatic Lion cubs
White Lion cub, born at the centre after its mother was rescued
Clouded Leopard cub, a rare and endangered species
Caracal cubs, part of a breeding program aimed at reintroducing them into the wild

He also witnessed an MRI procedure on an Asiatic Lion and observed a life-saving surgery on a Leopard that had been injured in a highway accident.

Close Encounters with Majestic Animals

PM Modi had up-close interactions with various wildlife species, including:
Golden Tiger
Four Snow Tigers, rescued from a circus
White Lion & Snow Leopard
Chimpanzees, rescued from captivity
Orangutans, previously kept in an overcrowded facility
Zebras, Giraffes, and a Rhino calf, orphaned after its mother’s passing

He also observed a Hippopotamus underwater, patted an Okapi, and came face-to-face with a Bongo (antelope), Seals, Crocodiles, and Giant Otters.

Advanced Care for Elephants & Other Animals

PM Modi visited the world’s largest Elephant Hospital, where he witnessed elephants enjoying their jacuzzi hydrotherapy pools, designed to aid in arthritis and mobility recovery.

Additionally, he observed rare reptiles, including a large Python, a unique two-headed snake, and a two-headed Turtle.

PM Modi concluded his visit by releasing rescued parrots back into the wild and interacting with the dedicated doctors, staff, and caregivers working tirelessly at the centre.
