The Group has appointed Sandeep Batra as the President & Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) for the Steel & Corporate divisions. In this pivotal role, Batra will oversee the people and culture agenda, with a core focus on organizational effectiveness, leadership development, and talent management for JSW Steel and its corporate arms.

A Veteran Leadership Duo
Sandeep Batra joins JSW with over 30 years of extensive experience across various sectors, including Telecom, IT, Aviation, and Infrastructure.

Previous Stint: He most recently served as the Chief People Officer at Adani Airport Holdings Limited.

Background: His career includes leadership roles at Landmark Group and Vodafone India. Notably, he also served as a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Army, bringing a disciplined and strategic approach to talent management.

Joining him is Shilpi Lal Sharma, who has been appointed as the Group Head of Talent, Learning & Development, and DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion). Reporting directly to Sandeep Batra, she will spearhead:

The Group’s learning architecture and leadership development.

Succession planning and organizational development.

The inclusion agenda across all business verticals.

Shilpi Sharma brings over two decades of expertise, having previously led Talent and OD functions at the Welspun Group, with prior leadership experience at the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and UltraTech Cement.

Speaking on the appointments, Mr. Parth Jindal emphasized that strengthening leadership capabilities is a top priority as JSW continues to scale its operations globally.
