Varahi media.com online news,New Delhi, 28 November, 2025Hindustan Power has emerged victorious in a highly competitive Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) tender, clinching a 150 MW firm-and-dispatchable renewable power contract that includes large-scale battery storage.

The landmark project will see the development of approximately 300 MWp of solar photovoltaic capacity coupled with 300 MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), making it one of the largest integrated solar-plus-storage initiatives awarded under the latest SECI ISTS tranche.

Speaking on the achievement, Mr Ratul Puri, Chairman, Hindustan Power, stated: “This win reinforces our leadership in building the next generation of flexible, storage-backed renewable assets that India urgently needs. By pairing solar generation with advanced energy storage, we are delivering round-the-clock clean power and helping stabilise the grid — exactly the kind of future-ready infrastructure the country requires to meet its ambitious renewable and net-zero goals.”

The project was awarded through SECI’s tariff-based competitive bidding followed by an e-Reverse Auction on the ETS platform. It offers location flexibility and will be connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS).

This latest success adds to Hindustan Power’s fast-growing storage-led renewable portfolio, which currently includes:

  • 435 MW solar project under construction in Uttar Pradesh
  • 100 MW solar + 100 MW BESS project in Assam
  • 120 MWh standalone battery storage project in Bihar
  • Recently awarded 100 MW solar + 200 MWh BESS project for SJVN Limited

With today’s announcement, Hindustan Power solidifies its position as one of India’s foremost developers of grid-scale solar-plus-storage solutions, playing a pivotal role in India’s clean energy transition and energy security roadmap.
