Varahi media.com online news,Andhra Pradesh, May 8, 2025: LG Electronics India Limited (LGEIL) today announced the groundbreaking of its third manufacturing plant in India, with the new facility coming up in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. The ceremonial launch was graced by Shri Nara Lokesh, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology, Electronics and Communications, Real Time Governance, and Human Resources Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh. The plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2026.
Strategically situated in the industrial zone of Sri City, the upcoming facility aims to enhance LG’s manufacturing capacity, create local employment opportunities, and support the expansion of its supply chain network in South India. This will be LG’s third plant in the country, complementing its existing units in Greater Noida (Uttar Pradesh) and Pune (Maharashtra), and further reinforces India’s growing significance in LG’s global operations.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has allocated 247 acres for the new facility, which is expected to generate approximately 1,495 direct jobs. LG will invest USD 600 million (INR 5,001 crore) over four years, a move that is also poised to attract ancillary industries, nurturing a robust white goods manufacturing ecosystem in the state.

This plant will focus on manufacturing a wide range of home appliances including air conditioner compressors, refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioners, with a strong emphasis on localizing production to meet the increasing demand for LG products across the country.
Top executives from LG’s global and Indian leadership teams attended the event, including Lyu Jae-cheol, President of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company; James Lee, President of the LG Eco Solution Company; and Hong Ju Jeon, Managing Director of LGEIL, along with senior government officials and business leaders.
Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, extended his support in a message from Amaravati:
“We wholeheartedly welcome LG Electronics to Sri City. This landmark investment validates Andhra Pradesh’s progressive industrial policies, pro-business climate, and world-class infrastructure. Sri City is ideally positioned to host such a major facility, further cementing its role as a premier manufacturing hub.”

Lyu Jae-cheol, President of LG Home Appliance Solution Company, stated, “This new plant marks a significant milestone in LG’s journey in India. It will complement our existing facilities and underscores our commitment to creating employment, increasing local production, and contributing to India’s economic progress.”
